Erik Weiseth is the Executive Director of the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Association (IOGA),  the country's oldest and largest state trade association of licensed outfitters and guides.

Erik will present to MWOC what IOGA is all about. As public lands are a topic that brings all Idahoans together, he will also talk about state and federal advocacy including collaboration with federal agencies, e.g. BLM and also with outfitters and environmentalists. Including bringing chain saws into wilderness areas and work that was done this summer.

Info about Erik -  Before joining IOGA, Erik spent nearly two decades as an outfitter and guide and a decade as an IOGA board member, including as an owner and the operator of Orange Torpedo Trips, Whitewater Cowboys, Sun Valley Outfitters and Briggs Rogue River Trips. Today he works with federal and state agencies, policymakers, and the outfitting community on issues from public land access to permitting and licensing. Erik serves on the Valley County Recreation Advisory Council and is a founding board member of LEAP, a therapeutic wilderness nonprofit that brings whitewater trips to youth and adults facing adversity. He lives in McCall Idaho with his wife and two teenagers.
