JOIN ME FOR ANY PART OF THIS TWO DAY TRIP:
PADDLE: On May 21 we will meet at Albertsons on Federal Way at 8:00 am to carpool and drive to Silver Creek Preserve Visitor Center. We will arrange our shuttle to paddle this beautiful section of the Silver Creek Preserve from there. This gentle paddle, Class I, must be done before Silver Creek Preserve's Opening Day on Memorial Day. On prior trips I have seen moose, deer, swans, owls, herons. This paddle is suitable for all types of watercrafts and skill level. All inflatables need to be double walled. Everyone needs to wear a PFD, have a whistle attached, and a 2025 Invasive Species Sticker, Inflatable watercraft under 10 feet are exempt. Invasive species stickers can be purchased at https://idfg.idaho.gov/info/boat-stickers.
Weather can significantly vary this time of year so I will send an announcement a couple of days before the paddle to update information and reminders for things to bring, ie paddles, pfd's, hat, sunscreen, extra warm clothes in a dry bag, lunch, water shoes, etc. Stand-up Paddle Boards will need to pay extra attention to the wind predictions that day because the last part of the paddle is unprotected and can become difficult if windy. This event could be canceled due to weather so check your email prior.
We will stop midway through our paddle to eat our lunch in our boats. The paddle is approximately 3 hrs. We should be off the water and have our final shuttle completed by 3:00 p.m.

It is considered a moderately challenging hike with water crossings, water shoes and poles are advised. We will carpool from Soldier Mountain Ski Resort at 10:30 am, from there it is another 17 miles or 1 hr drive. Bring a sack lunch to eat at the hot springs. We should be back in Boise by 5:00 p.m. A couple days prior to the event I will send out last minute updates regarding weather and things to bring.
