More Ways to Explore the Sawtooths This Summer

  • 7 Apr 2025
  • 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Idaho Fish & Game Building, 600 S. Walnut, Boise

Have you wanted to explore more of the Sawtooth mountains and wilderness?  Maybe you are thinking of a day hike to a high lake or summit this coming summer.  Or you would like to join a group of backpackers on a guided trip through the wilderness.  Or you would prefer a supported backpacking trip where someone carries the heavy stuff for you. Or you would like to take the kids and grandkids on an overnight into an established camp that is already set up.

Sawtooth Mountain Guides co-owner Niels Meyer will tell us about those options and more at our Monday, April 7, 2025 Mountain West Outdoor Club meeting in Boise.  He will also give us a report on how last year’s fires have affected both summer and winter recreation in the Sawtooths.

The meeting begins at 7 pm at the Idaho Fish & Game Headquarters in Boise, 600 South Walnut Street, Boise 83712.  Note: Fish & Game meeting rooms are separate from the main entrance. If facing the main entrance, the meeting room door is on the right side of the building facing south. A club member will be tending that door to admit attendees from 6:30-7 pm. (Arrive early or on time to be assured you can get in.) A short club business meeting will be held at 7 p.m., followed by the scheduled presentation.

The officers will hold a brief administrative meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the same location. All members are welcome to attend.
