Hiking Kumano Kodo, Mt. Fuji and Kyoto, Japan

  • 6 Jan 2025
  • 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Idaho Fish & Game Building, 600 S. Walnut, Boise
The Kumano Kodo of Japan will be featured at our Mountain West monthly meeting January 6, 2025, 7 p.m. at the Idaho Fish and Game headquarters in Boise.  Photo-journalist Brenda Adams will share her pictures and historical/cultural adventures on the traditional Buddhist pilgrimage route.  She will also include pictures and descriptions of the mountain village of Koyasan as well as other Japanese hiking trails ranging from Mt. Fuji to the city of Kyoto.  “I found Japan to be a fascinating and beautiful country,” she said, “and the intertwining of the natural world with their spiritual practices is so interesting and inspiring.”

Brenda is a northern Idaho native who has lived in Boise since 1986. She describes herself as “a retired family physician who has been fortunate to have been able to hike on all seven continents!” She often travels solo and plans her own trips.

Note: Fish & Game meeting rooms are separate from the main entrance. If facing the main entrance (600 S. Walnut Street), the meeting room door is on the right side of the building facing south. A club member will be tending that door to admit attendees from 6:30-7 pm. (Arrive early or on time to be assured you can get in.) A short club business meeting will be held at 7 p.m., followed by the scheduled presentation.

The officers will hold a brief administrative meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the same location. All members are welcome to attend.
